Road Bike
Weekend training
My current maximum distance on a road bike is 17 miles, and that was back in August last year. I needed to get some more distance rides in before my 50km Charity ride in April. I set up a 18.3 route, that would cover the ring road path, the Frome valley, Bristol to Bath, and the dramway path in a loop.
Being seen
When I made that decision that I was going to start to ride to work, my biggest concern was being seen.
2nd week of commuting
So the plan of cycling more than once this week didn't really work. Torrential rain on Tuesday and Wednesday did not inspire me to cycle to work.
Achievement unlocked – 1st Commute to work
I planned Friday as my 1st commute into work, luckily the weather agreed. I was all dressed up with my new cycling tights and my very bright Provis jacket started my Strava app and I was off.
Training begins
Having signed up for the Tour de Bristol in April, I haven't done any training yet and the countdown is now at 34 days.
1st Road Bike Challenge
So I have signed up for the medium distance of 50km on the 2nd April, an added benefit is that it is for a really good cause, St Peters Hospice.
