MONDAY JOKE: Don’t mess with a Woman

Posted by Eloise on 07 Jul 2008 | Tagged as: Jokes

A married man left work early one Friday, but instead of going home, he spent the weekend partying with the boys.
When he finally returned home on Sunday night, his wife really got on his case and stayed on it.
After a few of hours of swearing and screaming, his wife paused and pointed at him and made him an offer.
‘How would you like it if you didn’t see me for a couple of days?’….. The husband couldn’t believe his luck, so he looked up, smiled and said,
‘That would suit me just fine!!’

FRIDAY FOOD: The Clifton Sausage

Posted by Eloise on 04 Jul 2008 | Tagged as: Food

Last week we went to The Clifton Sausage for a birthday celebration. It is situated in the heart of Clifton Village and furnished with pine tables, candles and warm yellow and sky blue walls, and as its name suggests serves sausages.  It also servers other British classics, such as Toad in the hole and ham egg and chips.

Most of us opted for the sausages and mash (or champ) served with onion gravy.  I had the lamb and mint ones.  We followed this with some lovely puddings, such as English strawberries, with strawberry and clotted cream ice cream.

It is reasonably priced for Clifton, and I would go back.

Wii Fit Search

Posted by Eloise on 01 Jul 2008 | Tagged as: General

We have been trying for a couple of weeks now to get a Wii Fit, but without much success. I was trying the main online retailers such as Amazon. The only sites that seems to have them were Amazon Marketplace and Ebay, at inflated prices.

When I was looking for the Wii last year, I used a stock checking site wii-consoles, they now have a Wii Fit stock checker as well (www.wii-consoles.co.uk/wii-fit-in-stock.asp). Unfortunately that site has now been blocked by our company firewall, which meant I could only check stock in the evenings or weekends, which was not very successful. Continue Reading »

MONDAY JOKE: 20 ways to tell that you are grown up

Posted by Eloise on 30 Jun 2008 | Tagged as: Jokes

I thought some of this was quite appropriate after the weekend

  1. 6:00 am is when you get up, not when you go to bed
  2. You’re the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next door won’t turn down the music
  3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge
  4. You take naps
  5. “I just can’t drink the way I used to” replaces “I’m never going to drink that much again”
  6. Continue Reading »

Busy Weekend: Saturday (Dennis & Sophie’s Wedding)

Posted by Eloise on 24 Jun 2008 | Tagged as: Events, Weekend Fun

On Saturday we went to Dennis & Sophie’s wedding on the SS Great Britain.

Luckily it stayed dry for most of the afternoon, allowing for the photos to be taken up on deck.

Sophie wore a beautiful traditional style red dress, and the bridesmaids were in white, with red sashes or wraps.

After the ceremony and a few celebration drinks we headed off to Woodhouse Park for the reception, for drinks, music and a pig roast.

There was a bit of rain, but it didn’t seem to dampen anybody’s night.

The Photos are in the album (you need to be logged on to see the page)

Busy Weekend - Friday

Posted by Eloise on 23 Jun 2008 | Tagged as: Events, Weekend Fun

DSCF2022Well its Monday again, so back to work.  This week a little worst for wear after a busy weekend.

We started the weekend on Friday night, with a concert in the Forest.

A group of us went to see the Zutons at Westonbirt.  They were supported by Noah & the whales and the Mystic Jets.  We took plenty of wine and a picnic.

Although the forcast wasn’t too good for Friday night, the rain held off, for most of the evening, and the rain we had was just light drizzle.

A good time was had by all - I will be keeping an eye open for who will be playing at Westonbirt next year.

There are a few photos of us in the album.
