This week I have been in London, so Monday night I ate in the Rhodes Brasserie Bar (Rhodes, as in Gary Rhodes) in the Hotel.
I started with breast of pigeon with tagliatelle, followed by Pork Osso Bucco, with Mash. I would of really liked to have a desert but I was rather full after the other two courses.
There is another Rhodes restaurant at the Hotel, Rhodes w1, however the prices at the Brasserie weren’t cheap, I can’t imagine what they were like at the restaurant.

Last week we went to The Clifton Sausage for a birthday celebration. It is situated in the heart of Clifton Village and furnished with pine tables, candles and warm yellow and sky blue walls, and as its name suggests serves sausages. It also servers other British classics, such as Toad in the hole and ham egg and chips.
Most of us opted for the sausages and mash (or champ) served with onion gravy. I had the lamb and mint ones. We followed this with some lovely puddings, such as English strawberries, with strawberry and clotted cream ice cream.
It is reasonably priced for Clifton, and I would go back.

Being rather busy today, and not having eaten anything wonderful recently, I thought I would share with you a couple of food websites.
The first is Chocolate & Zucchini, a blog written by Clotilde, who lives in Paris. She shares all things food related - recipes, cookbook acquisitions, restaurant experiences, ideas, and inspirations.
The second is delicious days an other blog, this one written by Nicky who is based in Munich. It has the most wonderful photographs of food, that just make your mouth water.

I have found a wonderful place to buy sausages and pork straight off the farm.
Cherry Lodge in Iron Acton, specialise in Gloucester old spot pigs. As you drive into the farm, you can see the pigs, chickens, ducks and now lambs and sheep in the fields. The animals are free range - especially the chickens so be careful, we nearly tripped over one.
The Farm shop is now open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They don’t just sell sausages but ham, bacon, pork, burgers, chicken, duck, guinea fowl, eggs.
We were hoping for some duck breasts, but they are just bringing on the next batch, and they won’t be ready for a couple of months.
I would recommend the pork & apple burgers (and the pork & apple sausages). They also do the following sausages; pork & chilli (a bit spicy for my liking), traditional, chipolatas, pork & tomato, pork & caramelised onion (which we have yet to try). I’m sure that I have forgotten some.

A couple of months ago we went to an Indian restaurant with a bit of a difference. Ganesha claim to serve authentic southern Indian food rather than the standard Anglo-Indian food that you find in most Indian restaurants. I haven’t been to India so I can tell if it is true or not, however I can say that there was none of the standard food on the menu.
Ganesha is Bedminster and has only been open a few months. We found the food to be good and excellent value. I would definitely recommend it, the restaurant is only small, so I would suggest booking. However they also do a take-away service.
