It was mealtime during a flight on Alaska Airlines.
‘Would you like dinner?’ the flight attendant asked John, seated in front.
‘What are my choices?’ John asked.
‘Yes or no,’ she replied.

SMART ASS ANSWER #5
A flight attendant was stationed at the departure gate to check tickets.
As a man approached, she extended her hand for the ticket and he opened his trench coat and flashed her.
Without missing a beat, she said, ‘Sir, I need to see your ticket not your stub.’

Friday Food: Warming Beef Casserole

This is a cross between a beef stroganoff and a beef casserole. No pictures this week, some of the quantities are approximate, depending on what you have to hand. This will serve 2.

Ingredients:

350g Braising Steak
100 ml Red Wine
250 ml Beef Stock (or hot water and a stock cube)
Mushrooms
1 clove of garlic
1 onion
1tsp paprika
2 tbsp low fat crème fraiche
Flour
Salt & pepper
Dried chilli flakes

MONDAY JOKE: Air plane trip

A stranger was seated next to a little girl on the air plane when the stranger turned to her and said, ‘Let’s talk. I’ve heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger’

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger ‘ What would you like to talk about?’

‘Oh, I don’t know’ said the stranger. ‘How about nuclear power?’

‘Ok’ she said. ‘That could be an interesting topic, but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat grass, the same stuff. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?’ Continue Reading »

Friday Food: Clementine Muffins

This is one of Nigella’s recipes [via Nigella.com] but I have made it into muffins.

Clementine Muffins

Ingredients

4-5 clementines (about 375g total weight)
6 eggs
225g sugar
250g ground almonds
1 heaped teaspoon baking powder

Method

  1. Put the clementines in a pan with some cold water, bring to the boil and cook for 2 hours. Drain and, when cool, cut each clementine in half and remove the pips.
