It’s been nearly 2 weeks now since we took delivery of a new toy.  We now have a new shiny games console; a Nintendo Wii.

We first saw the Wii back in February when we went to see Stuart & Skye; both Brad & Bryan came away wanting one. However they are still difficult to get, as there is not many stock, so when they come in they only stay in stock for a couple of hours.  None of the usual online shops will let you place an order if it is not in stock.

After a couple of evenings of surfing the net without success I found http://www.wii-consoles.co.uk/ this has a real-time stock list.  I also sent an email to Dixons & Gamestation.  Gamestation sent me an email the day before they were going to release some stock, telling me what time I could buy my wii and the link to use.  Dixons sent me an email when they had released the stock. I ordered from Gamestation in the end as they came into stock first, it arrived within 4 days.  I wasn’t too impressed with their online ordering.  You can’t really track your order.  I was only told it was being processed, and then I got an email to say it had been dispatched (if I had been home I would have already of received it!).  I also sent them an email to enquire who the courier was and did they have a tracking number.  I still haven’t received an answer.  They also use Parceline who only deliver Monday to Friday; luckily I managed to pick it up from the depot in Chipping Sodbury on the Friday night before they closed at 7.30.

Anyway we now have the Wii, its all set up and we have a few games.  It’s a really good laugh; some of the games give you a bit of a workout as well.
