We went up to the hotel last night with both sets of parents for a menu tasting session.  The parents had the opportunity to see the venue, which none of them had seen so far.

We tried 2 starters, 2 main courses and 3 desserts.  I think we all had an idea on what we wanted before we went, but we have done a complete U-turn. All the meals were really nice so it was really difficult.  The only thing we have not decided on is dessert, as we liked them all and had difficulty choosing a clear winner.

We also had to decide on which red wine we wanted served with the meal as there are several house reds to choose from, (there will also be white wine served, but there is only one house one).  This was equally as difficult as choosing dessert.  We had to force ourselves to drink four different wines, it was hard work!!! :)

I’m not going to tell you what we have chosen as I would like it to be a surprise.  However if you haven’t let us know if you are vegetarian or have any food allergies, please can you let us know as soon as possible.

We received confirmation from the Registrar today that they are happy with our choice of music, readings and our vows.

They were also happy that they had received our cheque.

Nearly got everything in order to get married now, just waiting for the wedding rings to come in.

There is still quite a bit to do, but the rest is just details.

I would just like to congratulate the Mulabrowns on winning the summer skittles league at the Rising Sun.

I believe they only lost 2 games all summer.

This weekend we finally made it to John Lewis to choose items for our Wedding List.

We have also set up a Debenhams Wedding List as John Lewis no longer stock the china that I have started to collect, although Debenhams only do a small selection.  We did try to put all the items on one list, however they haven’t got a very good Home section in Bristol.

John Lewis were brilliant for scanning, you don’t need to book an appointment, just turn up.

It was a lot harder than I thought, as we have a lot of stuff already, so there is a rather strange collection of items on the list.

There was lots of lovely items that I wanted to put on the list, but they were either REALLY expensive, wouldn’t go in our house, or would never use them.  When does one use a silver plated lemon squeezer?
